Blend of frozen fruits to create a perfect late night healthy treat
It's late on a Saturday night, 8 PM. Haha! The older I've gotten, the less I want to go out past 7 o'clock. Maybe it's a lazy thing, or that I hate driving at night, or it's the fact that I am just a home body and like my sleep and routine. But, the one thing that hasn't changed about me over time is that I still love ice cream, but since I am older and maybe a bit more wise, I know that I can't demolish a pint of B&J at 8 at night without suffering the consequences of weight gain, heart burn, and an empty wallet. Inflation is a b****.
So being a responsible adult who wants a quick treat I started making fruit ice cream to help curb the cravings. This is one of my favorite things to do because it can be different every time you blend these bad boys up. Tonight's options were raspberries that we shoved into the abyss of our indoor freezer, husband is good at maintaining almost rotten fruit ;) So raspberries, frozen banana and some questionable frozen strawberries that had about an inch of ice on them.
I typically like to make this size of a batch so me and Ray can share and it's 4 servings, so two nights that we can enjoy it together! Two bananas, 1/4 cup raspberries, strawberries and about 1/4-1/2 cup of macadamia milk. You can go more tropical and do mango and pineapple with banana and coconut milk to help blend. This is just a base recipe, but try some new options out, just make sure everything but the liquid is frozen. I also store mine in a glass container in the freezer.
